Magazine redesign and art direction
Editorial, art direction, illustration
I was approached by Missouri State University to design and art direct the second issue of their alumni magazine for the College of Business. My responsibilities included the intial work of establishing a grid, setting up paragraph styles, etc., as well as designing the issue from front to back. I also redesigned the cover to be more flexible, keeping in mind future issues.
Illustrations
I was able to negotiate a small illustration budget, enabling me to hire Daniel Fishel for some spot illustrations. I also contributed a couple illustrations myself. I'm a strong believer that illustration really adds value to a design piece and was pleased that the client also felt this way.
